Dr Scholls Fast Flats
A few weeks ago, I had the unfortunate luck of breaking 3 of my toes, including my baby toe. It was bent weird, it hurt when I stepped on it, and it stuck out to the side a bit. Cute? No. Painful? Very.
Every step hurt, and putting on heels, nonetheless sneakers, was out of the question -- I tried, but wasn't even able to slip my foot halfway into the shoe. I tried wearing sandals, but it's a bit cold in Michigan in November and the sandals looked odd with my work clothes.
I figured I could slip into stretchy flats and pull those off, so while I was at the drug store stocking up on pain medicine, I also purchased the pair of Dr Scholl's Fast Flats that were hanging out in a random aisle (as well as the foot aisle). I love them.
Dr Scholl's Fast Flats Review: Sizes
I purchased a pair of Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats, size 7-8, for $12.99 at the drug store. I usually wear a size 7.5-8 shoe, so I didn't really debate getting a different size. Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats come in 3 sizes, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10. I found that the flats run a bit small, though. If you have flat feet or wear a size on the upper end available (say an 8 - 8.5), I'd suggest buying up. I have flat feet and a unfortunate toe at the moment, so I should have known better.

Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats Review
Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats only come in one color at the time, black. I do love them, though, and will carry them around and wear them every once in a while when my feet need a break.
The fast flats are like walking around barefoot, I'd assume (I've never tried them) similar to Vibram Five Finger Shoes, except not for the same purpose...at all.
The Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats don't have any support, so they really are what Dr. Scholl's intended them to be for: for "emergency" purposes only. And by emergency, Dr. Scholl's suggests wearing the Fast Flats after a long night out with heels on, after events, or just when your feet need a break. I can think of a number of times when I've taken my heels off, even though I was in a city and the streets were pretty nasty, because my feet hurt so bad. So even though these truly are "fast flats," without support, they do the job when your feet hurt from heels. Or when you broke your toe and need something flexible to wear around.
